What burglary repairs are and when you need them
Burglary repairs put right the damage left by a break-in or an attempted one. That means the forced door, the split frame, the broken lock and any smashed glass. One team handles all of it, so you are not ringing round different trades.
The first job is always to get the building locked again. Depending on the damage, we either repair the door and frame so it shuts and locks, or cover the opening until the parts or the glass are ready.
Where a door cannot be made to lock straight away, door boarding closes it off. Broken panes are covered with window boarding and measured, then replaced through our emergency glazing service once the glass has been made.
Report the break-in to the police first, and let us know if they still want to look at the scene before it is disturbed. If you are unsure whether a door or lock can be saved, send us a photo and we will tell you. For a glazed door where only the panel was broken, see door glass replacement.

What burglary repairs cost
No two break-ins leave the same damage, so there is no set price. The quote comes down to four things.
-
What was forced
A door that has been levered open needs different work from a window that has been smashed. -
Locks and fittings
Whether the lock still works, and whether the keep and frame around it have split. -
Glass to replace
How many panes are broken, how big they are and whether they must be made to order. -
How urgent it is
Tell us if the property is open right now or already locked and waiting for a repair.
Send photos of the damage for a burglary repair quote
How burglary repairs work
-
Tell us what happened
Call or message with photos of each damaged door and window, plus the postcode. -
We price the repair
The quote covers securing the property and the repairs we can see. You choose whether we go ahead. -
The property is locked
Doors and frames are repaired where they can be. Anything else is boarded so nobody can walk in. -
We finish the job
Made to size glass and any remaining repairs are completed on a return visit.
Why use us after a break-in
-
One team for all of it
The people who board the opening also repair the frame and fit the glass afterwards. -
Answered day and night
Break-ins rarely happen in office hours, so our phones are answered around the clock, every day. -
A record of the damage
Each damaged opening is photographed before and after, and every repair is listed on the invoice. -
Fully insured
We carry full insurance and work on both homes and business premises.
Before and after: what our burglary repairs look like

What to do before the repairs start
Call the police and ask for a crime reference number. Your insurer will normally want it when you make a claim. Try not to touch or tidy anything the police may want to examine.
Take your own photos of every damaged door and window, from inside and outside. Write down what is missing while it is fresh in your mind. Then ring your insurer, because some policies have their own steps to follow after a break-in.
If keys were taken, tell us which doors they open. A lock that was never forced may still need changing when its key is in someone else's pocket.

Burglary repair questions
What do burglary repairs cover?
They cover the damage done getting in: forced doors, split frames, broken locks and smashed glass. We secure the property first and then complete the repairs.
Should I call the police before I call you?
Yes, report it to the police first and ask whether they need to see the scene. You can ring us straight afterwards so we are ready to secure the property.
Can a forced door be repaired or does it need replacing?
Many forced doors can be repaired, because the frame and the lock area usually take most of the damage. If yours is too far gone, we board it shut and talk you through what comes next.
Do you change locks after a burglary?
A lock damaged in the break-in is replaced as part of the repair. If you want other locks changed because keys were taken, send us a photo of each one and we will tell you what we can do.
Will you give me what I need for an insurance claim?
You receive photos of the damage, photos of the finished work and an itemised invoice. Whether the claim is paid depends on your policy, so speak to your insurer as well.
How much do burglary repairs cost?
The cost follows the damage: what was forced, the state of the lock and frame, how much glass is broken and how soon it must be done. Send photos and we will quote before starting.
